INDORE: Dressed in black with face painted in the energizing colours of change, they were here to educate, encourage and make people aware of their right to exercise democratic franchise. Meet the group of speech-impaired children, who staged pantomimes here on Tuesday.
Organized by Anand Service Society in collaboration with Inner Wheel Club of Indore Uptown, pantomimes were staged at various places in the city, including, Regal, Vikram Tower, Collector Office, Geeta Bhawan, Khajrana, Press Complex, Malwa Mill and Patnipura.

"With an aim to motivate voters to make proper use of the ballot, these spirited children, practiced hard to deliver their best," said co-ordinator of the society for speech-impaired children Gyanendra Purohit.
Through mimes, we ask people to participate in the election scenario, instead of sitting at home, he added. Children were disguised as politicians, who distribute money and liquor bottles to people during campaigns and force them to vote. The young guns also educated people on NOTA- none of the above, explaining them to reject a candidate by pressing the NOTA button, and not fall for their false promises.
Monica Purohit, was the script-writer and Vikas Taruwar narrated the poem on ballot use. President, Inner Wheel of Indore Uptown, Pragya Parik and Kamlesh Sharma were also present during the mime show.

These children have earlier staged pantomimes on issues relating to fuel conservation and environment awareness.
The mime portrayed different angles, in which children performed the role of a politicians who on the campaign for political party are found distributing money and liquor bottles to people. There is a second scene in which a politician is forcing voters to vote for him, while in the third scene police comes and strict action is taken against the unscrupulous politicians, he gets beaten up.
